Art at the Spitze
Fine arts between modern facades
To the west of Hallmarkt, in a small alley, a blue sculpture greets passers-by. The 3.30 metre tall concrete giant marks the start of the outdoor gallery Art at the Spitze. Here, local artists make individual references to their home town with modern works. Carsten Theumer's "Hallescher Schweinehirt" addresses the founding legend of Halle (Saale): A shepherd discovers salt on the bristles of his pig and thus recognises the value of the land of the future salt city. If you would like to find out more about the silent contemporary witness and his neighbours, QR codes on the walls provide exciting insights into the studios.
