Carsten Theumer "Hallescher Schweinehirt" 2023

Carsten Theumer's sculpture refers to an old Halle legend, according to which it was the animals of a pig herder that rolled in swampy terrain at the gates of the city, which was still to be founded later, and then, once dried again, shone silvery in the sun with salt crystals. They thus showed the people access to the salty springs and the salt became an important basis for the later wealth of the city.
