Christoph Weihe "Chameleon Fountain" 1992

Christoph Weihe

A small chameleon perched on a stone has adorned a fountain in the Neumarkt district since 1992. But it's not sitting there alone, because other animals with a connection to water are gathered around the original watering hole: a crocodile, a turtle and a rat. Christoph Weihe, the creator of this small resting place on the otherwise busy Geiststraße, studied sculpture under Gerhard Lichtenfeld and Bernd Göbel at the University of Industrial Design Halle - Burg Giebichenstein from 1974 to 1980.
