City Museum of Halle
Encounters with contemporary history
Under the roof of the city museum, permanent and special exhibitions combine two buildings and different eras. Over 1,200 years of the city's history come to life in the 1915 printing works: to click on, explore, read, listen and guess. Halle (Saale) is given a face here. With old and new portraits of people who lived and still live in Halle. Explicitly encouraged: rummage through boxes of old documents that bear witness to Halle's biographies. The mathematician and philosopher Christian Wolff lived in the second building in the 18th century. Baroque staircases, stucco ceilings and a lecture theatre welcome visitors into his world and the lifestyle of the Enlightenment.
