Classical Weimar

Long-time residence of the inseparable poets Goethe and Schiller

Classical Weimar

This UNESCO World Heritage Site (since 1998) can be experienced as a tour of eleven buildings and their parks. The residences of Goethe and Schiller are the main part of the tour, and the coffins of the two poets can be viewed in the royal crypt. Goethe's summer house is surrounded by the park on the river Ilm, which he himself helped to plan. In addition to beautiful castles and their gardens, there is a Gothic town church to discover, where Martin Luther once preached. The famous Rococo Hall at the Anna Amalia library impresses with its elegance and collection of writings from 1750 to 1850.
