Halle (Saale) - in the heart of central Germany - is conveniently located at the motorway junction between the A9, A14 and A38. The intercontinental airport Leipzig/Halle is only about 18 kilometres away from the city centre and can be easily reached by regular suburban railway services. The main railway station, which is a 10-minute walk from the market square, also has ICE connections. The new Halle-Leipzig S-Bahn (suburban railway), which takes only 25 minutes, also provides a very convenient connection to the trade fair city of Leipzig. 2:45 hours from Halle to Munich, six times a day and all the way to Vienna: Since December 2018, Halle has had a permanent international connection from Halle (Saale) to Vienna (via Berlin and Munich) in addition to a Germany-wide connection.
