Want to know where you can cool off in Halle on hot summer days? We'll show you!
Saale beach
"On the bright banks of the Saale!" In 2012, the Saale Swimmers' Association campaigned for the Saale beach at Ochsenbrücke and Ziegelwiese with the first official river swimming route in Germany - over 500 metres long. River swimming also has a long tradition in Halle. There even used to be river bathing establishments. And those who want to enjoy the Saale with dry feet can stroll through Halle's green lungs or lie in the sun on the beach or in the many green spaces.
Saline outdoor pool
The Saline outdoor pool is located right next to the Halloren and Saline Museum - directly on the Saline Island. The outdoor pool is right in the city centre - just 1 kilometre and 5 minutes by bike from the market square. Here, young and old will find everything their hearts desire in summer: in addition to the large swimming pool with 50 metre lanes, there is also a children's pool and, of course, slides. What makes the Saline outdoor pool so special? All pools are heated and the 31 metre long water slide is the attraction. You can soak up the sun on the sunbathing areas or the volleyball court and enjoy a cool drink in the beach lounge, which is the perfect place to endure high summer temperatures.
Lake Wallendorf
Lake Wallendorf, 15 kilometres from Halle, is located right next to Lake Rassnitz. The wooden jetties at the three beach areas Löpitz, Burgliebenau and Wallendorf are striking. Gravel and sandy beaches and sunbathing areas along the almost 14-kilometre-long lake trail offer the best conditions for nature lovers. The bathing spots run shallowly from the shore into the clear water, ideal for families with children to launch stand-up paddleboards or paddleboats.Pssst: If you look patiently in the green shore area, you are sure to find a quiet spot that no one has yet discovered.
Horseshoe lake
The Hufeisensee, affectionately known as "Hufi" by locals, is located in the east of Halle, just under 6 km from the city centre.the lake looks like a horseshoe and is one of the largest and, at 28 metres, one of the deepest lakes in Halle and the surrounding area. There is a sandy beach right next to the golf course and many small natural bathing bays around the lake. Football golf and water skiing are also on offer. The 5.5 kilometre circular trail is great for cycling, skating, jogging or walking - always with a view of the lake included.
