From Hamburg to Munich

The "Halle Delight Box", which celebrated its sales launch on 22 March 2024, is now also enjoying great popularity outside the city. In a social media campaign organised by Stadtmarketing Halle (Saale) GmbH, interested parties could win one of ten deliciously filled boxes. To do so, they were asked to share on social media where and to whom they would send such a box from Halle and why. Invited to Halle's tourist information office on Monday, 25 March 2024, the winners were able to receive their gift box, write a short greeting and hand it in free of charge for delivery to their desired recipient. The competition travelled across Germany - from Hamburg to Munich.

And these are the personal stories of the ten winners:

  1. Deborah is sending her box to her mum in Koblenz, who will soon be travelling to Halle by direct train to visit her daughter for the first time. The parcel is a little way of getting her in the mood for the visit.
  2. Clair's box is going to Bad Frankenhausen to her grandparents, who love Halle but unfortunately can no longer visit due to their age. This way they can still enjoy Halle a little.
  3. Nicole wants to send the box to Kronprinzen Koog to her sister and her husband. Her sister misses her hometown Halle very much and has a little something from the city at home.
  4. Nina would like to give the box to her Swiss friends. She already regularly supplies them with typical products from Halle, because they are enthusiastic about Halle's delicacies despite the Swiss culinary world.
  5. Conny sends her box to Göttingen to her "West twin". They were born on the same day and are very similar. They parted ways when Conny moved to Halle. Nevertheless, their friendship has lasted to this day. It's about time they visited again, hence the nice gesture with the box.
  6. Lena's box is going to Dresden to her friend who lives there with her British boyfriend. The aim of the box is to alleviate his longing for fish and chips a little and to introduce him to the delicacies of the region instead.
  7. Michelle wants to send the box to her uncle in Hamburg, who has moved away from Halle for work reasons. As he can't be in Halle very often, the box will certainly bring him great joy.
  8. Alina wants to send her box to her university friend in the far north. They both studied in Halle and the box will be a nice reminder of their time together in Halle.
  9. Yvonne is sending the box to Swabia to make her parents there happy. She herself has moved to Halle for love and would like to invite her parents to visit.
  10. Elisa wants to send her box to her friend in Munich, who loves coming to Halle and always realises that Halle and Saxony-Anhalt are much nicer than everyone always says.

Among the lucky winners were Deborah, Michelle and Nina, who were beaming with joy when they collected their box from Halle's Tourist Information Centre to send it to their loved ones.

A total of eight delicious and fine delicacies from Halle and the surrounding area can be found in the box. These include: Halloren balls, an evaporated salt sachet, Halle salt snaps, coffee from the Roy coffee roasting plant, spring tea from the Halle tea box with a heart-shaped tea strainer, fruit spread from Johannashall in the Salzatal valley, Portuguese red wine from the Born winery and the herbal liqueur "Alter Salzgraf". The box is also a real eye-catcher visually. Designed by a graphic designer from Halle, it combines a sophisticated play of colours with a stylised city silhouette and also features a photographic image of Halle's Marketplace. The "Hallesche Genussbox" is available for 37.50 euros in the online shop or at the tourist information centre in the Marktschlösschen.
