From Tuesday, 28 November 2023, Halle's Christmas and winter markets will be open on Marktplatz, Hallmarkt, in front of Ulrichskirche church and on Domplatz square. Over 120 stalls, merry-go-rounds, a Ferris wheel, a skills course and an art ice rink attract visitors to the various squares in Halle's city centre. With the subsequent winter market on the market square and the winter magic on Hallmarkt, guests can enjoy mulled wine, punch, a Ferris wheel and more even after the Christmas holidays until Sunday, 7 January 2024.
The Finnish "Arctic Village" with its 7-metre-high lobster tent, flaming salmon and glögi has the longest journey of 2,600 kilometres from Halle's Finnish twin city of Oulu. In addition to the large markets, there are 16 small, fine Advent and Christmas markets in the city.

On the 1st & 3rd Sundays of Advent, 3.12. & 17.12.23, Halle's city centre invites you to two Sundays open for business from 13:00 to 18:00.
The Christmas cot on the market square in front of the market church offers a children's programme. Christmas stories, readings and small concerts can be listened to from 16:30. From 15:00-16:00 there is a Father Christmas consultation hour. In the mornings, after-school children from Halle will perform their Advent singing skills.
On the three Advent weekends, a wintry view of the Christmas markets from the Hausmann Towers is worthwhile:Sat. & Sun.: 2 & 3 Dec. / 9 & 10 Dec. / 16 & 17 Dec. 23 (15:00-19:00).
On all Advent Sundays, the Halle Carilloneurs play a live concert on Europe's largest carillon in the Red Tower at 16:00.
