Tactile model of Halle (Saale): A haptic relief of the historic city centre

The tourist tactile model (scale 1:500) shows the historic centre of Halle within the six ring roads (University Ring, Hanseatic Ring, Orphanage Ring, Halloren Ring, Moritzburgring and Robert-Franz-Ring). The tactile model, with a cast bronze plate and a sandstone plinth, gives visitors and locals a tangible experience of the city in the centre of Halle's market square by the Red Tower.

The haptic relief is designed to be barrier-free and offers blind and visually impaired people tangible impressions of 33 tourist attractions, which are also labelled in Braille. With a height of 80 centimetres, children and wheelchair users can also easily handle the model, which has a base area of 1.70 x 1.13 metres. A QR code on the model links to the Halle audio guide and also offers an audible tour of the city.
