Elster cycle path
Final destination: Halle
The Elster Cycle Route runs for around 250 kilometres from its source near the Czech town of Aš to where the White Elster flows into the Saale near Halle and mostly runs along the banks of the river.
In addition to beautiful landscapes and picturesque villages, there are numerous sights and cultural attractions along the route that are well worth a visit. You pass historic towns such as Plauen, Greiz and Gera, museums, castle ruins, fairytale forests, the black beer brewery in Bad Köstritz and the idyllic Pirk and Pöhl reservoirs. Passing the metropolis of Leipzig, the route ends in the green and culturally rich city of Halle. A final stop here is a must!
