Planetarium of Halle
Up to the stars - in Saxony-Anhalt's most modern planetarium
Looking at the stars is a fascination for young and old alike. Until the floods of 2013, the space flight planetarium on the Peißnitz Island invited visitors to do just that. After that, a new location was found: an old industrial ruin on the green Saline island. The gasometer, which served as the municipal gasworks until 1972, has had a new mission since 2023: to be home to the largest and most modern planetarium in Saxony-Anhalt. The elaborately renovated circular building and a varied programme will delight visitors on three levels: in the starry hall under the projection dome with a diameter of 12 metres, in the star café, on the observation terrace and in the observatory on the roof.
