Reichardt's Garden
Inspiration in the countryside for poets and thinkers
The composer Johann Friedrich Reichardt laid out the park, which now covers three hectares, in 1794 in the style of an English landscape park modelled on the Wörlitz park. Important poets and scholars, including Goethe, Novalis, Brentano and Tieck, found inspiration here. This is why the estate is also known as the "hostel of Romanticism". The garden is characterised by its network of winding paths and steps that lead past numerous monuments. There is a playground and numerous seating areas in the park. The park is freely accessible all year round.
