Wandbild in der Großen Klausstraße
"City" by Hans-Joachim Triebsch
On a gable wall in Große Klausstraße there is a monumental mural with the title City. It was created by the artist Hans-Joachim Triebsch, who was once drawn from Brandenburg an der Havel to Halle by his studies at the Hochschule für Form und Gestaltung (now Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle). The mural was created in 1987/88, shortly before the political upheaval in the GDR. The fictitious Halle street scene shows numerous details that refer to the social and political mood of those years. In 2002, Triebsch revised the picture and added some new elements. If you look closely, you will discover exciting personalities of Halle's city history as well as of world fame.
