Wilhelm-Friedemann-Bach-House
Music city Halle – an exhibition worth seeing
To mark the 300th anniversary of Wilhelm Friedemann Bach's birth, his former home in Große Klausstraße in Halle has been restored. The home of Johann Sebastian Bach's eldest son now houses a music museum that takes visitors on a chronological journey through the city's musical history. In addition to Bach, composers such as Scheidt, Reichardt and Loewe take centre stage. Wilhelm Friedemann was one of the organ virtuosos of his time. His parents placed particularly high expectations on the undoubtedly musically talented first-born son, and the shadow of his seemingly overbearing father had a strong influence on his life.
