Wörlitz Park
Majestic, impressive and a UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Wörlitz Park is the highlight of the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom. From 1765, Prince Franz von Anhalt-Dessau created a total work of art that harmoniously combines garden, architectural and fine art. Take long walks through the 112-hectare park for impressive views of sculptures, temples, bridges and waterways. Romantic gondola rides are probably the best way to explore the park. It has always been open all year round and is free of charge. Tickets are only required for ferry and gondola rides and visits to the castles. Visitors can visit Wörlitz Castle, the first neoclassical building in Germany, the Gothic House, which was a gardener's residence and princely seat, or the "Stein" island with its artificial volcano, also known as the "Wörlitz Miracle Rock".
